*odd*: I mean the swirly bit texture is always set to be facing toward the camera at all times and the 3D model acts as a masking effect so that said swirly bit only shows up in that area. This version of smoke is noticable because of how it has shading on the bottom, and if you are to turn the camera you will see how the shading changes with the angle but the swirl does not.
